What a catalogue entry records

Three things, and only three: the name as the vendor writes it, the spellings with measurable search demand, and the category the product's output puts it in. Everything else — pricing, caps, clip length, retention, output rights — is a specification, and a specification is published here only with a source next to it.

That is a slower way to build a catalogue than copying figures between aggregators, and it is the reason the columns above are mostly empty. The methodology page sets out what will fill them.

Questions about the catalogue

Why are the specification columns empty?

Because nothing has been verified against a vendor's own documentation yet. The alternative — repeating a figure found on another aggregator — is how a wrong price about someone else's product ends up on fifty sites at once. An empty cell is a statement that the work has not been done, which is accurate.

What is the volume column?

Monthly search demand for the tool's name and its common misspellings, taken from the keyword export this site was built from. It explains why a tool has a page here. It is not a quality signal and should not be read as one.

Do you link to these tools?

No. These pages exist to answer the question people arrive with, not to forward them. The only commercial link on this site is the paid placement, and it is marked wherever it appears.
